On the morning of December 3, the 2024 equipment manufacturing industry development conference (emf2024) and the 2024 machinery industry science and technology award ceremony were held in Chongqing. The project "high performance mixed flow pump theory and key technologies and their application in high-end equipment" led by Professor Li Wei of the fluid center was awarded the first prize of China machinery industry science and technology progress.
With the support of the national science and technology support plan, the National Natural Science Foundation and other projects, this achievement, in conjunction with Nantong University, Kunming Branch of the 705 Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, Shanghai Electric kesby nuclear power pump valve Co., Ltd., Nanfang Pump Industry Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Aerospace Hydraulic Equipment Co., Ltd., Leo Group Zhejiang Pump Industry Co., Ltd., Sanlian Pump Industry Co., Ltd., Shanghai kesby Pump Co., Ltd., Hitachi pump manufacturing (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. and other units, has spent 15 years to jointly tackle key problems of industry, University and research, and conducted a comprehensive, systematic and in-depth study on the theory, key technologies and high-end products of high-performance mixed flow pumps, overcoming the low operating efficiency and cavitation of mixed flow pumps in a wide range.Serious, strong vibration and other worldwide problems, and the key indicators have reached the international leading level. The project has broken the foreign monopoly and blockade of mixed flow pump technology and products for major projects such as the South-to-North Water Transfer Project and underwater weapon launch, and the achievements have been widely used in national defense, military industry, nuclear power, water conservancy and other fields, promoted the localization process of China's high-end mixed flow pump products, and played a major role in leading industry development and technological progress, energy security, energy conservation and consumption reduction.
It is reported that China machinery industry science and technology award is the only award approved by the state in China's machinery industry and the highest industry science and Technology Award in the field of machinery industry. There are 4 special awards, 28 first prizes, 180 second prizes and 184 third prizes in the awards for scientific and technological progress in the machinery industry. This award demonstrates the outstanding achievements of the fluid center in bravely climbing the industry's scientific and technological peak and creating a deep integration innovation system of industry, University and research.
