Recently, the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas announced the decision of the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas on the commendation of the Shennong China Agricultural Science and Technology Award in 2022-2023. The "water saving irrigation equipment innovation team of Jiangsu University" led by researcher yuanshouqi of our University won the outstanding innovation team award of Shennong China Agricultural Science and Technology Award in 2022-2023. In this selection, a total of 25 teams won the excellent innovation team award, which is the first time that our school has won this award since the award was established.

Shennong China Agricultural Science and technology award is a comprehensive science and Technology Award for the national agricultural industry approved by the Ministry of agriculture and the Ministry of science and technology. It mainly awards the collectives and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the progress and innovation of China's agricultural science and technology, further mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of the vast number of agricultural science and technology workers, promote agricultural science and technology innovation, improve the level of industrial technology, and contribute to the development of China's agriculture and rural economy and the construction of a new socialist countryside.

The water-saving irrigation equipment innovation team of Jiangsu University is mainly engaged in scientific research and personnel training in the field of water-saving irrigation equipment. The team consists of 18 main members. The team leader yuanshouqi is a national candidate for the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the national ten thousand talents plan, the new century hundred and ten million project, and the winner of Heliang Heli science and Technology Innovation Award. The discipline fluid machinery and engineering of the team is a national key discipline. It has national platforms such as the national water pump and system engineering technology research center, the international joint research center of fluid engineering equipment energy saving technology, and the innovation and talent introduction base of high-end fluid machinery equipment and technology disciplines (the national "111" talent introduction base).

Guided by the national agricultural water-saving strategic demand, the team has formed three main research directions with distinctive characteristics of water-saving irrigation equipment, pump station project and intelligent irrigation, and developed more than 50 kinds of products such as new water-saving irrigation equipment, series of high-performance pumps and devices. The research results have been widely adopted by the national water-saving irrigation industry, and have been widely used in national major projects such as water-saving and grain increasing in Northeast China and water diversion from the Yangtze River to the Huaihe River. The research results have improved the technical level of water-saving irrigation equipment in China, led the development of the industry, and played a major role in drought relief and disaster reduction, energy conservation and emission reduction, and sustainable utilization of water resources. The team won 3 second prizes of national science and technology progress awards in 2007, 2014 and 2015, and 18 provincial and ministerial awards such as Shennong China Agricultural Science and technology first prize in 2021.
