Recently, the China Machinery Industry Federation and the China Society of mechanical engineering issued a circular on Commending the 2023 "science and Technology Award for machinery industry". The project of "key technology and application for efficient and stable design of large capacity irrigation and drainage pump device" presided over by Professor Peiji of the center won the second prize of scientific and technological progress.

As an important agricultural infrastructure, irrigation and drainage pumping stations play a key role in ensuring food security and Rural Revitalization. Over the years, the project team has carried out long-term, systematic and in-depth research on the key technologies of high efficiency and stability of large-scale irrigation and drainage pump devices, relying on the national water pump and system engineering technology research center and the national key disciplines of fluid machinery and engineering, aiming at the industrial problems of low efficiency and poor operation stability of pump devices that need to be solved urgently in the field of agricultural water conservancy projects and water resources allocation in China, and has made breakthrough progress. The developed high-performance large flow pump device and digital twin operation and maintenance technology have been popularized and applied in national major projects such as diversion irrigation, inter basin water transfer, urban flood control and drainage, and have contributed a lot to the construction of the national water network.

China machinery industry science and technology award is a comprehensive science and Technology Award for the national machinery industry jointly established by China Machinery Industry Federation and China Society of mechanical engineering and approved by the Ministry of science and technology. In 2023, a total of 429 projects were awarded, including 35 technological invention awards (14 first prizes, 16 second prizes and 5 third prizes), 394 scientific and technological progress awards (2 special prizes, 27 first prizes, 174 second prizes and 191 third prizes).
