Recently, the Ministry of Water Resources announced the review results of major science and technology projects of the Ministry of water resources in 2022, and the project of "research and development and application of key technologies of eco-friendly tubular pump units in the follow-up project of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project" led by Jiangsu University was approved.
The project is led by researcher zhangdesheng of Jiangsu University. Relying on three national platforms, namely, the national water pump and system engineering technology research center, the national fluid engineering equipment energy saving technology international joint research center, and the high-end fluid machinery equipment and technology discipline innovation and talent introduction base, the project adopts the mode of deep integration of industry, University, research and administration, and cooperates with the water conservancy and hydropower planning and Design Institute of the Ministry of water resources, the east line of China South to North Water Transfer Group Co., Ltd., Zhongshui Huaihe planning, design and Research Co., Ltd., Jiangsu water conservancy survey, design and research Institute Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Aerospace Hydraulic Equipment Co., Ltd. to form a technical consortium to jointly implement the project. According to the national strategic needs of the great protection of the Yangtze River and the construction of ecological water conservancy projects, the project team has carried out forward-looking technical research on eco-friendly hydraulic machinery, solved key technical problems such as fish friendliness, high-performance hydraulic model, unit structural reliability, production process and so on of large tubular pump units, realized independent control of core technologies, and served the follow-up construction of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project in China.
It is reported that over the past 20 years, Jiangsu University has put forward the theory and method of non-linear circulation design of low head pump impeller around the major national strategic needs such as the South-to-North Water Transfer Project, cracked the "password" of high-efficiency impeller flow, solved the industrial problems of low head pump efficiency and poor cavitation performance, independently developed a series of high-performance hydraulic models, and served the major national strategic projects such as the South-to-North Water Transfer Project and the diversion of the Yangtze River to the Huaihe River. The results have also been widely used in important fields such as flood control and drainage, water resources allocation, water environment improvement, agricultural drainage and irrigation in the countries along the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, the Huang Huai Hai River, the Northeast Plain, and the "belt and road", significantly improved the technical level of China's large-scale low head pumps, leading the development of the industry and promoting technological progress, drought relief and disaster reduction, energy conservation and emission reduction have played an important role.
