Recently, the "complex vortex identification and evolution mechanism in turbine flow of side channel pumps" hosted by Desmond Appiah, a foreign Postdoctoral Fellow of the international pump and system engineering technology research center of our university, was supported by the "key support plan for foreign experts" of the Ministry of science and technology, and the fluid center was approved for the first time.
The project mainly focuses on the identification and evolution mechanism of complex vortices in the side channel pump, in order to improve the unsteady flow mechanism in the ultra-low specific speed pump. Under the guidance of the cooperative tutor yuanshouqi, researcher, and the team's young teacher Zhang Fan, associate researcher, Desmond Appiah, relying on the fluid center in the early stage, has been approved the young foreign experts research project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. This project is an in-depth expansion on the basis of the previous research.
In recent years, the center has further promoted the construction of international connotation, overcome the great difficulties caused by the epidemic, maintained close contact and cooperation with foreign experts, and never relaxed in talent training, scientific research, exchange and discussion. This year, 12 graduate students of the fluid center were approved to go abroad for joint training or study for degrees with the support of the National Overseas Study fund. They have successively won the outstanding units assessed by the foreign experts' Studio of Jiangsu Province and the "key support plan for foreign experts" project of the Ministry of science and technology, and made important contributions to the connotation construction of the national level international cooperation platform of the "National Joint Research Center for energy saving technology of fluid engineering equipment" and the "innovation and talent introduction base for high-end fluid mechanical equipment and technology disciplines" (the national "111" talent introduction base).
