From July 21 to August 8, Professor zhangdesheng, deputy director of the national water pump and system engineering technology research center, led a delegation to visit Catalonia Institute of technology in Barcelona, Spain, and conducted in-depth exchanges with the opposite party on topics such as long-term and short-term student exchanges, teacher visits, scientific research cooperation, joint training of graduate students, and further deepened the international cooperation between the two universities in the field of fluid engineering.

During the visit, Professor Xavier of the Catalan Institute of technology warmly received Professor Zhang Desheng and his delegation. Polytechnic University of Catalonia and our university have had many years of friendly exchanges and frequent academic exchanges between the two universities. Over the years, the fluid center has successively sent outstanding teachers and students such as Chen Jian, genglin, Zhang Ruijie and Ning Yanqiang to the University for further study, and successfully carried out the joint training of Engineering Master / doctor programs, achieving fruitful results.

The two sides reviewed the history of friendly cooperation between the two universities and looked forward to the future cooperation prospects. During the talks, the two sides jointly discussed the progress of the Jiangsu International Cooperation Project "joint research and development of deep-sea high gas content oil-gas multiphase transportation mechanism and key equipment technologies" and the NSFC key international cooperation project "multi field coupling mechanism and toughness improvement of hydraulic structure of wide amplitude tubular pump station", emphasizing the important role of international cooperation in promoting cutting-edge scientific research.

Professor Javier led the delegation to visit the fluid and Energy Laboratory in Barcelona. The laboratory has strong strength in the field of renewable energy. It has presided over and participated in several important EU projects, including the advanced grid interface project for innovative storage integration (agistin), the European hydraulic oscillation power generation project (h-hope), and the active flow control system project (afc4hydro) for improving the operation performance of hydraulic turbines off design points. In recent years, the laboratory has actively expanded its research scope to other renewable energy and cross field projects. The laboratory is active in scientific research, has accumulated rich experience in national and European funded projects, is also active in technology transfer, and has established long-term cooperation alliances with many large enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises.

The delegation also visited the Catalan hydrogen energy research center. The center integrates the scientific research resources of the Catalan Institute of technology in the field of hydrogen energy technology to provide technical support for enterprises' exploration and innovation in the field of hydrogen energy. The research scope covers the whole industry chain technologies such as hydrogen production from renewable energy (green hydrogen) combined with emission absorption (blue hydrogen), and hydrogen energy storage, distribution and application in industry and transportation. The two sides discussed in depth the frontier research topics being carried out by the hydrogen energy research center, such as energy control and management of fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles, mechanochemical preparation of energy application catalysts (methane activation and hydrogen production), which laid a foundation for future cooperation in the field of new energy.

During the visit, Professor Zhang Desheng and his delegation listened to the report on the study of Dr. Chen Jian and Dr. Zhang Ruijie, who are participating in the exchange program at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, and learned about their research progress and living conditions in detail. The delegation also had a discussion with alumni and visiting teachers who are studying for doctoral degrees, encouraging them to cherish learning opportunities and improve their academic level and scientific research ability in an international environment. The visit further deepened the cooperation between the two universities in fluid engineering, new energy and other fields, and laid a solid foundation for promoting higher-level international exchanges and cooperation and cultivating high-level talents with international vision.
