From August 4 to 7, 2025, the 5th IAHR Aisan Working Group Symposium on hydraulic machinery and systems (IAHR Asia 2025), hosted by the Korean fluid machinery society, was successfully held in Jeju, Korea. The conference attracted nearly 350 experts and scholars from many countries to gather here to conduct in-depth exchanges and discussions on cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements in the field of hydraulic machinery and systems, such as research and development of new energy and hydropower utilization equipment, digital twin technology, etc. During the meeting, more than ten well-known experts and professors at home and abroad made wonderful thematic reports.

The national water pump and system engineering technology research center of Jiangsu University was led by Professor pengguangjie, deputy director, and a delegation composed of 8 teachers and students, including Professor Si qiaorui, associate professor wangwenjie and Associate Professor Chen Jia. During the session from August 5 to 6, Professor Si qiaorui and associate professor wangwenjie should be invited to serve as the chairman of the session. The teachers and students of the center will make academic reports at the session based on their own research results. The conference received more than 300 papers, and the performance improvement of volume structure for a sanitary semi open central pump written by Associate Professor Chen Jia won the "best paper award of the conference".

The hydraulic machinery and Systems Committee of the international society of hydraulic and environmental engineering has long been committed to promoting scientific research and Technological Development in this field, and promoting cooperation and interaction in various links such as survey, design, R & D, manufacturing, operation and consultation. The committee holds academic seminars every two years to provide a high-level academic exchange platform for global scholars. In order to strengthen the academic cooperation of hydraulic machinery in Asia, the Committee specially established the "Asian working group".

By participating in this meeting, the scientific researchers of the national water pump and system engineering technology research center had an in-depth understanding of the latest progress in the field of international hydraulic machinery, broadened their academic horizons, significantly displayed the scientific research achievements of Jiangsu University in the field of hydraulic machinery engineering, and further expanded the cooperation and exchange with well-known universities, scientific research institutions and related enterprises at home and abroad. This activity has played a positive role in promoting the discipline construction and scientific research of the University, and also laid a solid foundation for wider and deeper academic cooperation in the future.
